Do you exercise but still suffer back pain?
Feb 16, 2023Working out is a popular option to try for pain sufferers. Most people have heard the sentiment that a stronger core will fix back pain. The reason this thought is commonly shared is because core strength exercises have helped a lot of people rehab and prevent back pain. It’s why physical therapy is often prescribed first when a person seeks help treating their pain.
An added bonus with core strength is that it's beneficial even if it doesn’t fix the pain. A stronger core prepares the body for additional treatments that may be needed, like shots or surgery.
So if you exercise consistently in pursuit of back pain relief but still suffer, I have three thoughts to share with you.
- Your back pain may not be a type which is successfully treated with exercise alone.
- You may not be doing the right exercises.
- You may not be exercising with enough consistency.
